Sophia Weiqi Li, Winner of the 2025 Best Undergraduate Paper in International Development Studies Prize
The Institute for the Study of International Development congratulates Sophia Weiqi Li, winner of this year鈥檚 Best Undergraduate Paper in International Development Studies Prize. Sophia is a Honours International Development Studies Graduate with minors in French Language, Russian Language, and Urban Studies, and is recognized for her paper entitled When Feminists and Imperialists Link Arms: An Intersectional Case Study of the Russian Invasion in Ukraine. The jury noted that this paper is a truly exceptional, theoretically sophisticated work for which Sophia conducted research through Russian-language online spaces to analyze primary source material.. Sophia originally submitted this paper in the context of her Honours Seminar in International Development Studies with Professor Sarah Nandi.
