Mary Anne Poutanen and Paul-Étienne Rainvi lle will share their projects and experiences in this field. Their objecti ve: to explore how the construction of historical narratives raises fundam ental issues related to inclusion\, justice\, belonging\, collective ident ities and living together.\n\nHow can we develop a historical narrative th at reflects a shared identity - sometimes called “montréalité” - while hig hlighting the diversity of voices\, trajectories and experiences of Montre alers of all origins? How can we tell a story that captures both the tensi ons\, inequalities and power relations\, and the moments of encounter\, co nvergence and solidarity that have shaped the history of this metropolis? \n\nThis discussion will explore the role of research and public history i n building more inclusive narratives that give a voice to individuals and groups too often relegated to the margins of collective narratives. It wil l highlight how the public history approach offers relevant insights into many of the issues surrounding cohabitation in a complex\, cosmopolitan ci ty like Montréal.\n\nThe conference will be moderated by Frédéric Dejean ( UQAM).\n\nPlease note that this conference will be given in French and Eng lish.\n DTSTART:20250304T163000Z DTEND:20250304T180000Z LOCATION:CA\, QC\, Montréal\, H3A 2M7\, 680 Sherbrooke West\, 8th floor SUMMARY:L’histoire publique et les enjeux de cohabitation à Montréal : mémo ires\, récits et identités URL:/centre-montreal/channels/event/lhistoire-publique -et-les-enjeux-de-cohabitation-montreal-memoires-recits-et-identites-36354 9 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
